What Causes Numbness In The Leg Despite Having Type 1 Diabetes?

Is this a free service or does it come at a cost? I am a 50 year old females, type 1 diabetic with my long term readings around 6.5 mmol. I have numbness and tingling in my right leg and sometimes my left as well as both arms and hands. I had a TIA at age 37 whereby I was completely paralysed down the left hand side of my body but this resolved itself. I take aspirin daily as well as plenty of other medications including statins. Difficulty walking heel to toe with eyes closed .... very wobbly. I am also a smoker with COAD.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
From history it seems that you might be having diabetes neuropathy producing tingling, numbness in extremities.
Take vitamin B12, B6 B1 capsules or shots.
Go for daily walking exercises regularly.
Ok and take care.
