What Causes Numbness In Lower Leg After An Injury?
I was scuba diving. I was climbing the ladder and slipped. My leg fell hard on the ladder (metal). my leg below the knee where it made contact with the ladder was numb on contact. there was a bit of a bruise but no pain and the bone did not break. However, that day and since (2 weeks) the area still has no feeling. is this a temporary nerve damage or bruised bone condition?
* The numbness in lower leg after injury indicates possible compression of tibial, superficial or deep peroneal nerves most likely.
Though there is no pain, you must not neglect the condition and must get assessed with your primary care provider for further guidelines and work up to diagnose and cure accordingly.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
