What Causes Numbness In Hand Which Is Turning Blue During Nights?

Hi I have to have an aniogram . Have had an MRI Scan, with dye going through my blood. Had an ultra sound first, now I have to go for an angiogram. I am just so scared. Not had any thing done in Hospital before, only gave birth to my children. Terribly nervous about hospitals, actually fainted visiting other members of my family. I know its pathetic for some one of my age. Have to have an angiogram as my hand goes numb, blue and painful when its cold. It does go numb during the night. Could I speak to some one regarding this

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello there, I am Dr Asanghanwa Carlson. Thanks for your question. I know it is a worrying situation when you faint especially in front of relatives and friends. But reading your story tells me your have a serious underlying medical condition which requires urgent follow up. The fact that you have numbness in your hand which becomes cold and painful tell me you suffer from a condition of insufficient blood flow to your hand which can be caused by a medical condition called thromboembolism where a blood clot or some other substance such as an air bubble or a vegetative mass moves in your blood vessels and gets lodged in a small vessel blocking it and reducing blood flow to the organs supplied by the blood vessel. The fact that you fainted means this condition either reduces blood flow to your brain, or lungs or the heart. I would advice you seek urgent medical attention from a Cardiologist and a hematologist
Keywords: thromboembolism, cardiologist consultation, hematologist consultation
