What Causes Numbness In Feet Post Laminectomy?

I ve had tingling and numbness in both feet for 2-3 years, had MRI and EMG done Feb,2014. Saw a neurosurgeon in May, he recommended laminectomy, diskectomy, L5-S1 area, and removal by laser spurs also in the L5-S1. Surgery was done this past Tuesday, June 24,2014. Wasn t able to ask my doc this question he had another case after mine. But I was curious how long of a healing time would pass when I start seeing the tingling and numbness in my feet reduced. Thank you Bruce
