What Causes Numbness And Tingling In A Toe?

Hi.Am 22 years old and live in Mauritius. I rarely wear very high heels and usually i feel comfortable in the shoes i wear. But a week ago i wear a high heel shoes for around 3 days and started feeling some discomfort while i was wearing it. Now i feel that my 3rd toe in my left leg has gone numb. Am not sure if this happened after wearing the high heel shoes or it was there before but i didn`t pay attention to it. I remember once i was washing my legs and felt like a tingling sensation in that toe. Otherwise my other toes and my right leg is fine. What can cause this? Why am i feeling this numbess? Can it be due to lack of water in the body?

Hello!

Welcome on Healthcaremagic!

Your symptoms could be related to a pinched nerve, probably due to uncomfortable shoes.
For this reason, I would recommend using orthopedic shoes for the next weeks.
If the numbness persists, I would recommend performing a nerve conduction study.
Hope you will find this answer helpful!
Best wishes, Dr. Aida
