What Causes Numbness And Pain In Ear Caused After Injury?

A few days ago I was slapped in the ear, it was not very painful, there was no pop or any fluid, but I did notice a slight numb feeling, there was no pain after as well as very, very slightly muffled hearing, this feeling was getting starting to disappear. After about 6 days, I went swimming in a pool, I didn t do any diving and I noticed the water was really hurting my ear, and I was struggling to get it out. Over the next hour or so my ear began to hurt constantly, but what really worries me is that when I close my nose, I can force air out of my ear into the open, this is accompanied by some yellowish drainage. I am currently ill, have a lot of mucus in my nose, and am using a steroid nasal spray to combat swelling, is my ear drum ruptured, or could it be caused by an infection?

HI
Well come to HCM
I really appreciate your concern, if this is the purulent discharge per ear then it could be infection and this need to be managed first with antibiotic and best drug would be "Tab Amoxicillin with Clavulanic acid" twice in day, it is very important to see the ENT prior to initiate the treatment, without the clinical examination of ear perfect diagnosis may not be possible, hope this information helps, take care and have a nice day.
I find this answer helpful
