Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Nosebleeds, persistent Headaches And Fatigue?
My son is 22 years old. He has had nose bleeds since he was little and had to have the surface veins in his nose cauterized. Lately he has been having numerous severe headaches. Then 2 weeks ago his nosebleeds started back up with severe bleeding and large, very large clots coming from his nose. He is also becoming very fatigued to where he can be sitting watching TV and just start to nod off...which he has never done before. He has no medical insurance and I don t know what to do.
Persistent nosebleeds are indicative of epistaxis (bleeding from the front of the nose). It may be indicative of high blood pressure, clotting factor disorder, blowing or picking may trigger the bleeds. Excessive bleeding over a prolonged period of time can also lead to further problems such as anemia. Get him examined by a GP, get all required blood tests, investigations and imaging tests done to detect any tumor, ischemic stroke, etc. He will be treated at the earliest.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Nupur K., General & Family Physician
