What Causes Nosebleed And Headache After A Head Injury?

My 19 year old son was playing by the pool he misjudged the side and hit the back of his head. Shortly thereafter he sustained a nosebleed. This lasted for approximately 2 minutes. Does this require medical attention? He is not complaining of headache or blurred vision

General & Family Physician 's  Response
yes nose bleeding after head injury is a danger sign. Nose bleed generally occurs due to direct injury or increase intracranial pressure as a safety mechanism. In all cases of intracranial contusions its not necessary of presence headache or bluured vision. Transient loss of consciousness is also a danger sign. Please monitor the child for atleast two days closely whether he is clinically fit or not. If any problem occurs shift him to nearest hospital urgently and do a CT scan of brain.
