What Causes Nose Bleeding And Headache?

My mom is 60 something and has had a bloody nose all day starting at 0600a.m. with a dull headache. She has a med HX of drinking and smoking and takes anti depress. and anti anxiety meds., she is slightly hypertensive (150/90) HR 96. She has never had a bloody nose. I ve always had a concern regarding stroke and or cardiac problems for her. Could this be a sign of the inevitable of more events to come? We went into the E-D(1930 hrs.) and they inserted a balloon, but didn t do any labs. Should I have pushed labwork?

Epistaxis or nose bleeds can be caused by the underlying hypertension. Headaches are also caused by high blood pressure. Kindly get her high blood pressure treated. Because hypertension with or without nose bleeds is a risk factor for both hemorrhagic stroke or stroke caused by embolism.
