What Causes Neck Pain And Feeling Of Having Lump In Throat?

I have pain on both sides of my neck. It feels like pressure but then will have a quick sharp pain start at the bottom of my neck and go up. It started suddenly yesterday and with it I also feel like I have a lump in my throat. What could this be and should I see a doctor right away. I am in nursing school and of course I have symptoms of everything I learn about. I just don t have time to go to the doctor if it is not life threatening. What should I do??

This could be something as simple as allergies or reflux or something more complicated like enlarged lymph nodes or thyroid enlargement. I suggest that if the symptoms are severe that you see a doctor right away. If you do not fell that it is that severe then make sure you are drinking plenty of water, observe your symptoms for a few days and if it is not resolving then see your doctor. I hope it resolves soon.
