What Causes Nausea When Diagnosed With Heartburn?

Hi, My doctor diagnosed me with heartburn. I ve been experiencing nausea...have had an EKG, no heart issue. He wants me to take otc med for a few weeks. Started taking Prilosec, also anti-nausea pills for three days now. It comes and goes, but today I threw up and have had some constipation for a few days as well. Is nausea part of heartburn?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello dear
Understand your concern
I think you have acid reflux that is associated with nausea and heart burn and it is associated with decreased with decreased propulsive bowel movement.
Take following advises
Continue Prilosec on empty stomach for 14 days
Take tablet domperidone
Capsule sprololac
Soluble fiber like senna for constipation, if not responds then laxative like lactilose will help
Take small frequent meal and avoid large meal
Avoid spicy, oily food.
take banana, rice, applesauce, butter milk, yopgurt and toast.
Drink plenty of water
if not resolves then consult the gastroenetrologist and undergo Endoscopy and urea breath test to rule out sever esophagitis and ulcer in stomach.
Hope this may help you
