What Causes Nausea In The Mornings?

my 17 yr old has nausea every morning. He started drinking coffee this year and routinely uses hot sauces on his food. He was treated for ALL (leukemia) starting Feb 2007 and has been well every since. In addition, he has two AP classes and the rest are honors classes. For the last two semesters he has gone down to getting F s on the progress reports only to rescue his grades at the last 2 weeks of the term to get a few A s and B s. Suggestions?

Hi.
Thanks for your query.
Noted the history and understood your concerns.
ALL that leukemia treatment was in 2007 and this is 2017 means he is fine on this front.
17 years old getting nausea in the morning with the history of starting to take coffee and hot sauces on food indicates the possibility of gastritis or acidity related problems.
I would advise him the following in such a situation:
Stop coffee and hot sauces altogether.
Get a PPI and antacids.
Domperidone needs a prescription.
If no positive effects, to go for an opinion of a Gastroenterologist and to get the upper GI Endoscopy done to get the proper diagnosis aso that a proper management can be taken.
Also to keep away from the stress and anxiety.
Identify the foods and beverages that instigate or enhance the problems and to stop these.
Early to bed in reclining position.
Exercises and healthy foods adds to betterment asap.
I find this answer helpful
