What Causes Nausea, Dizziness And Headache?

Today is Wednesday and it s the third day in a row that I have experienced, nausea, fainting and a small headace (yesterday, I pushed myself and worked until I could hardly stand and ended up throwing up), went home rested and woke up as if nothing is wrong. I am pre-diabetic (about 1yr now) , so I m very alert to what and when I eat, but this situation is now concerning me, my family and co-workers. It s difficult to call my doctor because after a couple of hours rest, I feel well. It s almost feels like a very mild migrane (which I use to suffer from when I was younger), but no longer have that problem. I m female, 60yrs old. What could it be?

Hi,

If the episodes of nausea, dizziness and headache are there for less then a week then all you need to do is make sure you rest well and eat and drink regularly. If you have thrown up taking some oral rehydration solutions might help to substitute the electrolytes we loose with vomiting.

If you see that the symptoms are not improving in a few days or you have any worsening or any new symptoms like chest pains or shortness of breath or any other new symptoms you will need to have a check.

In this case the doctor might order some tests like: CBC, ERS, liver function tests like ATL and AST, kidney function tests like creatinine and electrolytes, urinalysis and electrocardiogram, etc.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
