What Causes Nausea And Vomiting?

On random days, I will wake up feeling fine and then eventually feel nauseous and throw up. Sometimes it's continuously and sometimes I just throw up once and I'm fine. Also, after having a bowel movement, I wipe and it's a mucus texture, even though the poop was solid.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

Feeling nausea and vomiting after waking up can be the first sign of a condition called achalasia. There is borrowing at the lower esophageal sphincter. Other causes can be related to gastritis, ulcer, or small intestinal problems and so on.

Hence, I would advise you the following in such a condition:
- Clinical evaluation and examination by your doctor
- Barium swallows and follows through
- Upper GI endoscopy and
- Tests of blood for liver function.

All these, will lead to an exact diagnosis and give plan of management. Till then, take PPI like Omeprazole, Domperidone and Antacids medicines. Avoid the foods and beverages that can cause vomiting.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. T Chandrakant
