What Causes Nausea And Fatigue After Stopping Cymbalta?

my name is Donna and I am 83years old. I took Cymbalta for fibermyolgia for years and when my perscripsstion didn t come I stopped taking it. That was 2 weeks ago and I have been sick, nauseated, vomiting, weak, no energy, crying a lot, ( over nothing) and I could go on and on. I ve been to my dr. and she was alarmed that I quit and wanted me to go on it again so she could wean me off but I refused to go on it again. My question is how long will I feel so bad?? And I m not causing anything permament , am I?

Cymbalta like all other SSRI should not be stopped suddenly, as they cal cause withdrawal effects, all that you suffered . If symptoms are really troublesome , I would advise you should stick to the decision of your doctor, restart and wean it off slowly. However, these symptoms are not permanent, and should resolve in few weeks exactly we do not know when as it varies from person to person, however some people may have the disease back and may need taking the for very long time ,even some times anxiety or Fibromyalgia may need life long treatment. Nothing is going to be permanently damaged if stopped , but only the symptoms can be problematic, so if you can bear the symptoms you can wait ,if not you should start and wean it off.
