What Causes Nausea And Depression While On Cipro And Flagyl?
My mother has been diagnosed with colitis and C-dif. She is currently taking CIPRO and Flagyl, but is feeling nausea and down/depressed. SHe is 87 and in generally fair-good health. Could this be too much antibiotic for her? She weight 105 lbs - and is now weepy and distressed. Thank you

Hi,
Nausea can be part of gastritis and GI upset via said antibiotics, same can be managed with antacid, proton pump inhibitor.
The depression is not the usual side effect of the drugs like Cipro and Flagyl and it should be addressed to the treating physician to handle the best way.
