What Causes Nausea After Treatment Of An Eye Infection?

I have had an eye infection for the past few days that started out with a white pus-like discharge and escalated to a very painful red eye. After a few antibiotic doses the pain is mostly gone but its still red and i m very sleepy and nauseated. Any suggestions?

Hi,

I understand your concerns, it seems you had severe case of conjunctivitis. Its good to hear that your pain is gone, however total recovery may take a bit longer. I would recommend that you complete the entire dosage of antibiotics prescribed to you as stopping it in the middle can result in infection not being cleared completely and high chances of relapse of infection as well as complications.

Now, regarding nausea, antibiotics can cause stomach upset including nausea as a side effect. I would recommend eating yogurt or taking probiotic tablets. You can also take Domperidone. I believe that the nausea should go away within few days.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
