What Causes Nausea After Drinking Coffee?

I am close to 70. I have always drank coffee and now all the sudden coffee is making me nauseous. So I switched to decaf but it does it also. This does not happen all the time but it has happened. I also have to watch what I eat or it goes right through me

You could be having Gastritis due to any cause, like taking NSAID, other pain medication, or even some other medication, smoking, alcohol all can cause Gastritis. The other differential diagnosis for you could be a Chronic Duodenal ulcer. These can cause nausea while having coffee due to the caffeine in it. It may be good if you could consult a Gastroenterologist and get an Upper GI Endoscopy done for proper diagnosis and treatment.
