What Causes Muscle Spasms In The Chest, Abdomen And Legs?

I have muscle spasms in my upper abdomen....not in the middle of my abdomen, but on either side in the area below my breasts, over my rib cage, and ending above my waist. They are severe spasms usually brought on by bending over or sometimes they happen spontaneously. When I try to stretch out of it, I often get a reciprocal spasm in my back. I have these several times a day. I also have spasms in my feet and legs, but not as frequently.

Hello,

As first-line management, you can take analgesics like paracetamol or aceclofenac for pain relief.

If symptoms persist, it is better to consult a physician and get evaluated.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain,
General & Family Physician
