What Causes Muscle Pain While Taking Statin?

my total Cholesterol is high (close to 300) my HDL is 50, but my LDL and Triglycerides are high. I have been on 2 different statin meds, both of which made my muscles ache. a recent heart scan showed zero plaque in my arteries.Is there a reason I should take a statin drug?

Hello,

Statin can cause rarely causes serious adverse effects like myopathy. In that case, statins must be stopped and alternatives must be started. Consult a physician and he will direct you accordingly.
