Hello,
You had unprotected sex, took
I pill for emergency contraception; now you are worried as you are not getting periods. After taking I pill women commonly experience menstrual changes. This is due to hormones in the pills that can cause unexpected bleeding.
Breakthrough bleeding may occur, the periods can come sooner than expected and may last for longer than usual. Periods can be heavier or lighter than usual due to hormone contained in the I-Pill.
Some women experience spotting. Symptoms vary from person to person. The menstrual period duration may increase as a result of emergency contraception. However, if the periods are delayed for more than a week, then take a
pregnancy test to confirm if the EC pills were effective or not. Get clinically examined by a Gynae, get per vaginal check up done. You may be asked to get USG (
uterus & fallopian tubes) to detect ectopic pregnancy.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
