What Causes Missed Periods After Having Copper T Insertion?

Hi,
I have cooper T which was inserted in January this year.I have missed my periods for two months but I am cramping and having white sticky discharge. This has happened in the past but the results came our negative. Am so scared since I have 2 kids and don't want more, a girl 12 yrs and a boy 7 yrs. Before the insertion, I went to a local gyna to have a tuba ligation which backfired since the doc could not access the tubes and it was a minor theatre. Pls advice. Can one miss periods when on Copper T? How effective is it? What is the explanation of missed periods.?

Hi dear, I have gone through your case and I can understand your concern. Missed periods, ower or one-sided abdominal pain in people with intrauterine devices as Copper T highly suggests for ectopic pregnancy, also vaginal discharge indicates for infection (pelvic inflammatory disease).You may take ibuprofen 400mg two to three times daily for pain (and fever if you will have). Please see your doctor immediately or go to Emergency Room for further evaluations and adequate treatment. Hope this answers your question.
