What Causes Missed Menstruation And Endometriosis In Both Ovaries?
I have missed my period for 10 days, I did hpt 3x but negative. I did serum pt but negative. I undergone transvaginal utz and found out that I have endometriosis on both of my ovaries about 44mm in size. I was prescribed with duphaston to induce menstruation. By the way, I regularly mense monthly and this just happened to me once. I am very much worried if I would bleed after taeking duphaston. How long will I wait so it would take effect? And if I didn t mense what could be the possible reason? Please help. Thanks.
There are different possible causes for delayed period with pregnancy being the most common cause but this was ruled out with your testing.
Other causes are: (a)emotional stress or illness (b)high levels of prolactin hormone (c)physical illness (d)abnormal levels of thyroid hormone (e)inadequate diet (f)polycystic ovarian syndrome- diagnosed based on symptoms, blood tests for hormone levels and ultrasound to look at the ovaries (g)side effect of medication
The medication should take effect after a few days, two to four days usually.
If you continue to have irregular periods then your doctor may need to examine you and do bloods to find the cause.
I hope this helps
