What Causes Mild Swelling And Pain In The Right Foot While Treating Neuropathy?

My right foot is slightly swollen, hurts to walk on and is a reddish color. I do have neuropathy in my feet but am not diabetic. Believe this a dermatology situation but don t know what to do. Was in hospital last year this same time for much larger case on other foot and leg and after many kinds of antibiotics, no solutions could be determined. My question is, would taking a benedryl for the redness and the swelling be appropriate? We are traveling and I was wearing hiking boots when this started.

Hi,

It could be a dependent edema or contusion. As of now you can use analgesics/anti inflammatory combination like Aceclofenac/Seratiopeptdase for symptomatic relief. If symptoms persist, it is better to consult a physician and get evaluated.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain,
