What Causes Mild Back Pain After An Injury?

I was weight lifting back squatting. I had over 285 pounds on my back and I was unable to squat the weight ( I was doing max outs). The bar rolled on the back of my neck/vertebrae and one of my vertebrae feels slightly bruised.I have no muscle/back pain and I am walking/moving fine. I am worried tho because if I damage my spinal cord there I could be paralyzed

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Great care should be taken during heavy exercises as they may cause serious injuries. However, if you feel fine, there is no severe spine pain, and no weakness in limbs, then any spinal injury is extremely unlikely. Just don't worry you are fine. However be careful in the future.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Mahboob Ur Rahman , General & Family Physician
