What Causes Menstrual Irregularities?

Hello, My periods have always been irregular. I would skip a month or two or bleed for two weeks out of the month. This year I have only had my period 3 times but (one of them.was only spotting for a day so I don t know if it counts). I m 18. Is this cause for worry?

Irregular periods can be due to hormonal imbalance in the body among other cause.
If I was you doctor I would have advised you to check your serum progesterone level first and then management accordingly.I will advise you to go to your gynecologist .
