What Causes Memory Loss While Treating Vertigo Caused Due To An Injury?

I Feel back in Sept, I slipped off a carpet on some stairs, I tried to tuck and roll but ended up knocking my head on the wooden porch. I was disoriented for about 3 days. I never got it checked. for the last few months I have been getting extremely dizzy and have fallen on a number of occasions when I can t find a place to sit. It is getting worse and I have come close to passing out. When I told my PC he gave me meclizine and told me I had vertigo. This has been going on for months. It is not getting any better I would say worse, I want to ask him to send me to a neurologist. my memory is get worse and I feel tried all the time. My grandfather on my mom s side died from a brain tumor I just don t think this is just vertigo

Hi,

Based upon your history given, immediate medical attention was needed after the head injury. It was a serious concern that was neglected.

For any case of head injury (post event):

1) Loss of cosciousness(LOC)
2) Vomiting
3) Urinary or bowel incontinence
4) Disoriented state
5) Seizure activity

If any of the feature is evident in any head injury case, this could lead to a serious and bad prognosis, this was skipped by you.

But anyways don't get nervous, please report to neurosurgeon at the earliest without any delay. You may be requiring a CT scan brain and few lab investigations to rule out dyselectrolytemia also.

1) CBP
2) Serum electrolytes
3) FBS & PLBS
4) Hba1C

Please don't delay in consulting a neurosurgeon.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Mohammed Abdullah
