Hello!

Welcome on Healthcaremagic!

His symptoms are partially related to the stroke, but I think he is suffering a post stroke depression. The fact that he has been drinking a lot, is another factor contributing in all this clinical situation. Alcohol withdrawal symptoms can also aggravate the situation.
For this reason, I recommend consulting with a psychiatrist and discussing on his behaviour. There are many drugs, including antidepressants and antipsychotics, which can help improve his situation.

Hope you will find this answer helpful!

Best wishes, Dr. Aida
