Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have had a lump/knot above my collar bone on my right side for almost 5-6 years now. I got it tested (x-Ray and scan) about 4 years ago and no one coul give me a definite answer except it's nothing bad. However, I have been working out pretty hard for the past seven weeks and it's starting to hurt again. It doesn't hurt to press on though. Just with certain movements.
Hello, With your concern over a change and current painful condition, I suggest you repeat diagnostic testing. The MRI will give more detail on soft tissue irregularities. Since you have not stated a prior diagnosis, it is difficult to advise you with accuracy. Follow up with your doctor that has prior details on your condition. Pathology testing would require removal or aspiration may be possible , if fluid filled. Was this step discussed? Try some anti-inflammatory medication such as Tylenol or Advil for relief of overuse or muscle tension that may aggregate your condition. It is possible that this is the cause of your discomfort. Sudden change or continued worsening of your condition requires prompt professional attention. Thank you for your inquiry. I hope that you find my recommendations helpful.
