What Causes Lower Belly Pain With Red Blood In Stool?

I have had lower belly pain for the last 4 days, and red blood in my stool. I have been having a lot of gas for weeks now, and have gained a lot of weight about 15 to 20 lbs, in the past 3 or 4 months. I am quite uncomfortable today. What is going on, should I go to the ER ? I do not have an E-mail address

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

The strong belly pain with red blood in stool indicates possible inflammation of the intestine or colon.

It is recommended to visit your GP for getting a referral of gastroenterologist who will proceed with clinical examination and further guidelines in accordance with that only.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
