General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

Noted your history of pain in low back once going down the right or to the left lower limb, persistent for 4 months, after a motorcycle accident.
Such type of radiating pain can usually be due to a condition called sciatica.
There can be prolapsed inter-vertebral disc compressing on the nerve roots, usually central hence the changing position of the referred pain down the area.
Arthritis of inter-vertebral joints.
Muscle spasm turning into fibrosis can also case the similar problems.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
All this can be well diagnosed by the following:
Clinical evaluation by an Orthopedic Surgeon or a Neurosurgeon.
MRI of the affected area confirm the diagnosis.
Further management in the form of anti-inflammatory medicines, oral or local steroids, symptomatic and supportive management.
Specific treatment such as Surgery may be needed.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. T. Chandrakant, General Surgeon
