What Causes Lower Abdominal Pain With History Of Colonoscopy?

I have occasional waves of moderate pain in my lower abdomen, probably in the intestine. It feels like gas or something is passing through a too small area. It can be a 5-6 on a scale of 1-10 pain. Usually, I will then either pass gas or go to the bathroom for a bowel movement. It comes and goes, sometimes for months at a time. It recently returned, then died down, now it will probably return because I just had a wave of it. I couldn t describe it accurately until I came across the phrase, waves of pain. I had a colonoscopy three years ago and the doc said there was nothing there. Could this be an aging colon that sometimes gets jammed? I have usual bowel movements, no diarrhea. My PCP is great but can t figure it out either. It doesn t get worse, but it jolts me. A major annoyance, but certainly something I can live with as long as I know I am not making it worse. Thanks

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,
Thanks for the query.
As a first line management you can take analgesics like paracetamol or aceclofenac for pain relief.
Consult a general surgeon and get plan for an ultrasound scan to look for any mass or lesion in the bowel.
Wishing all the best.
Thanks
