What Causes Lower Abdominal Pain When Suffering From Diverticulitis?

I have a pain on the lower left side that has been pretty consistent since this morning. I have diverticulitis and know the symptoms, but I usually have bloating and gas and not able to have a bowel movement easily and I do not have these symptoms. I have been under a lot of stress lately and not sure what else it could be with pain in this area.

Hello,

Because the pain is in the left lower abdominal area and you do have history of diverticulitis in the past, this episode of pain can be due to diverticulitis, even though you do not have the bloating and gas as you used to previously.

I would advise you to talk to your doctor and have the proper examinations and make sure if this is diverticulitis or not. Proper treatment is necessary if diverticulitis is the cause.
