What Causes Low Platelet Count, Sleeplessness And Headache?

Hi, I am 72 years old, my platelet count is low (126). My blood Dr. Prescribe folic acid to me. I exercise dayly for 20-30 minutes a day. I am semi-retired and when I work I don t exercise because the work I do requires walking and some other non-strenuous activity. Recently, I have felt real tire after I work or do home exercises, so much so that I need to lay down to rest. I m not asmatic but I take asma medicine because I m allergic to cold. I like to read but recently I get pressure headaches and are unable to sleep when I read. What is happening to me?

Hi,

As per your query about low platelets count, headache and sleeplessness can be due to anemia, due to vitamin deficiency like folic acid ,vitamin C etc. I suggest you to consult a physician for a complete blood investigation, examination. Platelets deficiency can lead to prolonged bleeding time and clotting time so any injury can be fatal for you. Blood investigation for viral infection like dengue or chickenguinea should be done. Take rest till the reports come. I suggest you to take a multivitamin supplement daily by consulting the physician.
