Hello, - Dilaudid (hydromorphone) is in the opiate/narcotic family and yes, it can cause both fatigue and sedation, as well as altered mood. Having had recent surgery could also make a person more emotionally fragile, given the physical stress, pain, and medications used in anesthesia. You may start to feel better soon, especially once you wean off the dilaudid. However, if you don t and you continue to feel this way or it worsens, then does contact your doctor about this.
