What Causes Low Blood Sugar Levels After Receiving A Lantus Shot?

I am a type 2 diabetic. 14 months ago I had cortisone shots in both heels for heel spurs and plantar fasciitis. I had to lower my Lantus injection from 98 units to 48 units. I had surgery 10 months ago, but again needed a shot in each heel 3 months ago due to pain. Again, my sugar dropped very low and had to be adjusted. Everything I read states that these shots raise sugar, not lower it. Can you explain what is happening?

Steroid causes hyperglycemia and increases blood sugar level which can increase your inj lantus requirement.and about lantus that's a peak less insulin so it can maintain your sugar without causing hypoglycemia.
