What Causes Low WBC Count While Suffering From Vitamin D Deficiency?

My my wife has low hgb and has vit D deficiency. Her latest blood count shows that her total white cell count is 3.0 and neutropenic. Can the iron and vit D deficiency, suppress her bone marrow in this way? She also suffers from heavy periods and hay fever. She takes flexofenadine for her hayfever.

I can understand your concern.
No, vitamin D and iron deficiency can not cause bone marrow suppression and low WBC count.
In my opinion, she might be having megaloblastic anemia. This is due to deficiency of the both, iron and folic acid.
So get done MCV (mean corpuscular volume).
If it is high then, megaloblastic anemia is the cause for her low WBC count.
Treatment of megaloblastic anemia is iron, folic acid and vitamin B12 supplements.
