What Causes Loss Of Voice, Discomfort In Neck And Swollen Lymph Nodes?

Hi I lost my voice about 3weeks ago I felt totally fine and I m one to opt out of medication and let things take there course. After a week passed I got my voice back I then noticed it to go again.. So I went to the doctors last Tuesday and they gave me penicillin which I m taking 8 tablets a day for ten days I ve been on them now for 6days and feel the same. My lymph nodes are still swollen and when I lift my neck back I feel discomfort , I m not getting a slight salty taste when I cough could you please help me diagnose what is this problem as it s worring my that I keep losing my voice
