What Causes Loss Of Consciousness In A Child?

I am desperate to learn what is wrong with my cousins baby. I am nurse and hearing the stuff makes me upset so.. he is a year old and has been passing out regularly since birth. he has large jaws and is very chubby. Even though now his body doesn t seem quite so chubby his jaws are still large and he has a double chin. He loses conciousness at least once a month I am unsure of the tests they have done on him but I am in the process of finding out. could is be Cushings even though his skin pigment is aparebtly normal and he is so young?

The first thing I would be thinking is that he is having some kind of seizure. That would be much more likely than Cushing's, which is uncommon and doesn't typically cause passing out. If he is very chubby, I would also be wondering about sleep apnea. Other things to consider are a heart arrhythmia, or some kind of neurologic problem. Finding out what tests have been done should help you. I would imagine your cousin has been getting this evaluated since he was born. Hope this helps.
