What Causes Light Vaginal Bleeding Post Withdrawal From Microgynon?
hello, I ve been trying to conceive for the past two months, I came off the pill (microgyn) a month ago and had a withdrawal bleed for two days after. Then I had a normal period, however a week after my period I m witnessing light bleeding but most of the bleeding is dead blood. Is there still a chance I could be pregnant? Thanks
Microgynon contains ethinylestradiol and Levonorgestrel which is used to prevent Pregnancy. When you finish taking Microgynon, you body will take some time to get back to normal. After stopping hormonal birth control like Microgynon, most women will have withdrawal bleeding within 2-4 weeks. After this withdrawal bleeding, your natural menstrual period will return on its own the following month. The period will be heavier and longer than withdrawal bleeding.
Take care. Hope I have answer your question. Let me know if I assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Zubayer Alam, General and Family Physician
