What Causes Light Periods And Nausea?

Hi, just wondering, I got my period on Tuesday night, it s now Friday. It came 3 days late, and is extremely light and bright red. I do not have the normal cramping I get but I have been feeling nauseated. My period is normally 7-8 days long and extremely heavy. Everything I have read points to pregnant. I have 3 children already and only have one tube due to an ectopic pregnancy, although I have also had a tubal ligation almost 3 years ago when I was 26.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Your symptoms do not seem to be related to pregnancy considering your condition.

It can be related to perimenopause.

Even though, I suggest doing a pregnancy test to exclude the possibility of a pregnancy.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
