What Causes Light Menstruation After Taking Postinor-2 Pills?

Hi...i had unprotected sex on 7th feb then i took the p2 pills and on 14th feb had my periods with cramps which i usually experience during my periods but they seem lighter now...my question is,are my light periods a side effects of p2 pills or could i be pregnant??please answer

Yes, Intake of postinor 2 pill can cause Light menstruation or vaginal spotting. The bleeding you had must be breakthrough bleeding which is different from menstruation & normally occurs within 3 weeks of intake of a Morning after pill such as postinor 2. This is normal feature of intake of Postinor 2 pills & you should not be much concerned about it.

Breakthrough bleeding means that intake of plan B pill was successful in preventing pregnancy by destrupting your menstrual cycle, hence bleeding occured. Now your next period may also be delayed.
Don't take postinor 2 pills too frequently. These pill can cause irregular periods & other serious side effects. Use condom or regular contraceptive pill regularly as method of preventing unwanted pregnancy in future.
