What Causes Lethargy After Diagnosed With C-Diff?

I had C-Diff in March. It was quite a severe case as the Dr. Said if I had not gotten to the hospital when I did I would have passed away in just a matter of about 48 hrs. I was In ICU for a while as well, left the hospital, home for a few days, an was right back in the hospital for another week. My question to you is, is my extreme exhaustion almost daily due to the C-Diff and my stomach issues feeling upset daily effecting my Barrett s from the C-Diff? I just never feel good or have any energy since I was so sick. Thank you, Sue

Hi, thanks for using healthcare magic

After a prolonged severe illness, it can take a long time for the body to recover its previous energy level.

In addition, due to your reduced oral intake during this extended period, it is possible that your blood count would have been reduced and this would also impact on your energy.
You may want to have this assessed.

In addition, you may want to try a wide range of fruits and vegetables, this way you would be likely to be ingesting a host of minerals, electrolytes and vitamins that would have a positive impact on your energy.

Your nausea would affect your appetite and you may want to use an anti emetic such as pepto bismol or dramamine.
I hope this help
