What Causes Left-sided Chest Pain While Breathing In Deep?

I am experiencing pain on my left side when I take a deep breath and cannot sleep on that side at all. I did have a mammogram a week ago so thought it was that but pressing left breast does not hurt?? I do not have shortness of breath, 140/87 blood pressure, overweight, 68 years old. I did have pain, kind of a knot in my lower neck 2 days ago.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Left side of chest pain aggravated on deep breath may be due to pleuracy of pneumonia or bronchitis etc.
Until examination is done it is difficult to say what it is.
Avoid spicy food and alcohol avoid smoking and caffeine drinks.
Use water vapor inhalation and salt water gargling thrice a day for five.Use tablet Tramadol+paracetamol twice a day for five days.

Hope I have answered your query.
