What Causes Left Rib Cage Pain In A Patient With Breast Cancer?

I am 60 years old female in remission from bfeast cancer (left side). For the last few days, I have had severe pain running down from my left arm pit and down the left side of my rib cage. There is also a vein that is protruding and pulsating, which I have never seen and felt before. It s very painful and I m worried. Do you know what it could be? I m not sure if I should go to the ER or wait until my appointment tomorrow at 4pm.

Hello,

It can be due to inflamed lymph channels in your hand. Is there swelling and redness in your arm? You should keep your arms elevated and you should consult the ER.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Meera Rajeev, Anesthesiologist
