Well the symptom you mention in query can occur due to may reasons like acid reflux , post nasal drip due to sinusitis , allergic rhinitis or upper respiratory track infection. Specially it will occur again and again when body immunity is low, so eat healthy food containing vitamin c and multivitamin to boost immunity. I would suggest you to do warm saline gargles and betadine gargles alternatively , take bendryl twice a day and avoid spicy and heavy food specially at night . Consult ENT specialist without any delay because infection may spread down to respiratory track and cause lung infection also . Doctor may order certain tests like throat swab test , CT scan , viral culture test and blood test to confirm the diagnosis . Doctor may prescribe antibiotics at least for 10 day , decongestant , expectorant , anti allergic drug and drug like sucralfate for healing of throat .
