What Causes Joint Pain In The Knee And Elbow Along With Fatigue?

yes, me and my daughter have symptoms that mimic arthritis. Mine are most often blamed on my weight but weight was not a factor when I started having the symptoms. She weighs only 125 lbs, knee joints, back, and elbow joints hurt constantly and worse when cold. She has Extreme fatigue, stiffness, and gets out of breath easily, too easily. I also have exact same symptoms. Can you point us in a direction. She also has eczema, i don t. We also have numbness and weakness in one arm at times. I have lumps that are hot to the touch that come up on the joints in my fingers and toes. Any suggestions...

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Considering the symptoms mentioned by you(joint paint , stiffness, numbness, fatigue, eczema, lumps on your joints, getting out of breath), in my opinion these can be all related to an autoimmune disorder, Lupus erythematosus.

This is a chronic disorder that affects joints, skin, lungs, associating with these symptoms.

This disorder needs to be treated properly for a long time, to prevent complications, so I suggest you both to consult a doctor, for a hysical examination, and perform some blood analysis(complete blood count, fibrinogen level, rheumatoid factor, antinuclear antibody titer).

It is very important not to ignore these symptoms, and to start treatment as soon as possible, because treatment depends on stage of the disease, and early treatment, prevents complications.

Meanwhile, I suggest you to take anti-inflammatory drugs (Naproxen, Ibuprofen) daily, for pain relief.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards
