What Causes Itchy Rashes On The Body?

I have been experiencing quick localized rash breakouts. They usually occur in one location, they look like little hives, very itchy...unrelentingly itchy. The bumps start out raised, turn red of course when I scratch and then turn white and go away within 10-15 mins. They occur in one particular area at a time. On the arms or legs. I do have dry skin but that has been all my life. There is no specific time, food or activity. I never know when they will strike. I have not changed soaps or detergents. My diet is the same. It s starting to freak me out. Nevermind...didn t know I had to pay. I ll see my doctor on Mon.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Your symptoms seem to be related to an allergic reaction. I recommend using antihistamines daily such as Zyrtec. I also recommend using hydrocortisone cream for local application.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
