What Causes Itching Sensation In The Pubic Area Post Intercourse?

I had sex a month ago and I have been having a burning and itching feeling ... I don’t know if it is a UTI or what, I’m scared that it might be a STD. I’ve been having sex with the same partner for 3 months and this is my first time having this burning and itching.

Hello,

As per your case history of itching on pubic region, my treatment advice is:

1. Maintain good hygiene and bath twice daily.
2. Apply an anti-fungal cream like Clotrimazole cream twice daily on affected skin.
3. Take an antihistamine medicine like Levocetirizine twice daily for 7 to 10 days.
4. Other treatment options are oral antibiotics, oral fluconazole taken only after consulting a dermatologist.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Harshit Bhachech
