What Causes Itching Sensation In The Anal Area?
Hi I have some anal itching and think it could be hemaroids it s been itchy last few days and I feel a small lump when i wipe.. It s the same feeling you get when you haven t wipes properly after the toilet I get constipation and I push too hard which I think has caused it .. I have daktacort cream will this help if I wipe the area with it? It so uncomfortable in bed Thanks Lauren

Hemorrhoids can cause itching to occur in the anal region and would also be associated with a 'lump'. Anal itching can also sometimes be linked to the presence of worms as well so in some cases, the use of albendazole or another anti parasitic medication, is needed. The steroid part of the daktocort cream would be helpful but the anti fungal part would not have any impact (would not help or hurt, unless you have a fungal infection).
In addition, if hemorrhoids are the cause, the following may also be helpful as well:
(1) warm sitz baths, 2 to 3 times a day, for 15 to 20 mins,Table salt or epsom salt can be in the water. This helps the hemorrhoids to shrink and decreases pain.
(2) Pain killers such as ibuprofen or naproxen or voltaren or cataflam
(3) A topical pain killer such as lidocaine on the area
